An alternate history starring sharp, witty protagonist Micah Grey who runs off to join the circus, rather than be ratcheted to the life of a cloistered noble. Micah is one of the most interesting characters I've had the pleasure of meeting in a long time, and I am anxious to see more adventures in this series. Also, there's a palpable sense of danger and urgency throughout this story, which is filled with other interesting characters. I love stories set in a circus or theme park, especially when things get weird or creepy, and this exceeded my expectations on every level.
