This is a reread in honor of my favorite holiday. I had previously only read this classic Victorian gothic novel one time, but I have seen several adaptations. After time, it's easy to forget just how much story there is here. A huge chunk of the vampire mythos began with this one book. Definitely a must-read for anyone interested in seeing how the trend first started to take shape.
It's important to remember that Stoker didn't invent the vampire genre, nor was he the first to write a popular story in this particular era. But his is the one that lasted, and that's why it's such a pervasive myth.
